beck.2007

So, here's a little picture story line of 2007 for me...

I started the year off giving notice as a paralegal (well actually my duties only reached as far as legal assistant, but I am a paralegal) at a family law firm to take a job at my dentist's office as a Concierge. He's a high end general dentist with an emphasis on restorative and asthetic dentistry. We just built a new building and it looks like a cathedral! Amazing place!

Then mid year Ryan and decided it was time to buy our first house. Looking back, we'd change things, we'd have waited a few months and bought something more modest, but we love our home. Having interior design as a major love of mine I fell in love with this house and love decorating! We have really been blessed to have this home. Plus its saving our bacon on income taxes!

The house is so colorful and I love it! It was a model home so they had already painted the majority of the walls. We loved all the choices. The only one I might do different is one of the bedrooms is green and I love the green but I'd like something more edgey. Oh and I'm eventually going to take done the pine cone wallpaper strip in the guest bathroom. It was a log cabin theme home. Yuck!
I love the color of our master bedroom walls! Its like a burnt red! I love the contrast with the black! I'm holding back on more decorating for now to save $$$.

fall.2007. This pic is on a street care in San Francisco. The gals behind me are co-workers. The blond is my partner in crime, Shelly, we manage the front desk together and the gal in the sunglasses is Sandy, she's been in dentistry a long time! Work has kept me busy! I took over marketing for Kremer Dental Care and am now both the Concierge and the Marketing Director. Its stressful, but rewarding. I love using my creative genius. I just celebrated my one year anniversary at work. Crazy its already been a year. I'm pretty much a dental goddess at this point! riiiiiiiiiiiiiight.

pics from the caribbean!

Here we are on our cruise in the southern Caribbean. We were so fortunate to take this vacation. I don't think we'll be taking one like this again for a long time. Its time for a little shift in priorities! Well, we enjoyed ourselves and it went by too quickly! We were able to see Puerto Rico, Aruba, Bonaire, St. Kitts, St. Thomas, and Grenada. All beautiful places! I definitely want to go back to Puerto Rico!!! What a blast the trip was! Highly recommended!

our finest moments...!

2nd Honeymoon

As if our first honeymoon wasn't enough (7 nights on a cruise in the western Caribbean), we're heading on our second honeymoon on a 2nd cruise in the caribbean! WE ARE EXCITED! This time we're heading to the southern Caribbean. We loved it so much and can't wait for the blue blue waters and gorgeous beaches. WORK HARD, PLAY HARD! We know there won't be many more opportunities for times like this, so we're taking advantage! We'll definitely post some pictures!

One Down...Eternity to Go!

Well, on October 5, 2007 we celebrated our first wedding anniversary. We started the celebration off early with a semi-surprise weekend trip to San Francisco. Let me just explain "semi-surprise" for those that aren't familiar with Ryan's experiences surprising Stacy. Gratefullly, I'm not ashamed to tell you this story (after the fact). I've come alot more comfortable with my weaknesses since marrying Ryan. He's pretty much amazing so I had to! Anyway, Ryan can't seem to surprise me with anything. It probably began as a child when I would sneak around my parents room at Christmas to find my presents or read through my mom's planner for ideas. Bad child! Well, I hate surprises! I hate giving AND receiving them. Ryan had given an honest shot at them now and I don't blame him for giving up! The most memorable was when he proposed to me the first time...we had looked at rings previously but not gotten one. Well, that next week he attempted to go to Roseville without me to get it, but being the insecure (but innocent) girl I was started sensing he was keeping something from me. I knew him too well and his story wasn't making sense. For some reason he couldn't meet me for lunch even to say hi because he had to meet up with Denning (his roommate and buddy through school). Well, it didn't make sense since normally Ryan dropped everything for me. Well, I insisted I didn't believe his story until he got so frustrated and couldn't lie a minute longer and would drop it that he had to tell me he was in the car WITH HIS MOM on the way to get my engagement ring. OUCH! Needless to say I shut up and got over it. I felt like an idiot!

Well, the luck has continued on several occassions, the latest being our anniversary. We had agreed to keep it simple, but Ryan tried to surprise me. He accidentally hinted he was secretly planning something, then told me to promise not to look at his email for the rest of the month. That sparked the beast! So, I started probing until he gave in with another detail of the secret. Unfortunately, the thing that ruined the surprise this time was the fact that his "clue" was the date of the event and that we were heading out of town and I had actually committed to a con-ed course for work and couldn't miss it! I hardly ever work on fridays, but Ryan had neglected to look at the calendar. Talk about bad luck! Thankfully I was able to get out of the commitment with enough time to gam to San Francisco for a Broadway play of "Jersey Boys". It was a great performance! Sorry honey about the surprise issue! The really sad part is he loves giving them but they always flop. Better luck in the future! We had a great weekend, with some bumps along the way, but that's a whole nother blog...our bad luck with San Francisco.
